Cosimo Filane Figliomeni was a passionate entertainer, entrepreneur, and proud Northern Ontario family man whose influence reached far beyond music and business. Known professionally as “Cosimo Filane,” he built a lifelong career as a singer and performer while also helping establish several successful family businesses in Schreiber, Ontario. His love for music, storytelling, sports, and community became the foundation of the Filane legacy.
The documentary highlights Cosimo’s deep pride in his Italian heritage, his dedication to family, and his commitment to giving back to his community through music, hockey, mentorship, and entrepreneurship. He became well known throughout Northwestern Ontario for his live performances, strong personality, and ability to bring people together. Through initiatives like the Filane’s Falcons hockey program and his support of local youth, Cosimo believed in creating opportunities for everyone — especially those who simply needed a chance to belong and participate.
His passion, work ethic, and larger-than-life spirit helped inspire generations of the Filane family and left a lasting mark on the Schreiber community and beyond.
